SRDJAN IVANOVIC MODULAR

Olivier Laisney : trumpet | Manu Codjia : guitar | Yoni Zelnik : bass | Ludivine Issambourg : flute | Srdjan Ivanovic : drums, electronics

Modular is my new project featuring a group that has been playing together for the past year with and with whom I have been developing new compositions and a concept of compositional modules with freedom to go between them at will. The core is this quartet but we have been performing also with flutist Magic Malik in the past year and other guests have included saxophonist Christophe Panzani and accordionist Noé Clerc.

“Srdjan Ivanovic, conceals an energising drumming and percussion playing, an antidote to torpor..” Citizen Jazz by Alice Leclercq

"don't expect any folklore, no cliché of unbridled fanfare. It is nuance and imagination that prevail here." La Croix by Yann Mens

NIKOLOV-IVANOVIC UNDECTET

Olivier Laisney : trumpet | Armand Dubois : french horn | Sébastien Llado : trombone | Miloš Budimirov : tuba | Noé Clerc : accordion | Luka Ignjatovic : alto sax | Kristijan Mlacak : tenor sax | Léo Guédy : baritone sax | Mihail Ivanov : bass | Srdjan Ivanovic : drums, compositions | Vladimir Nikolov : piano, compositions/arrangements

"... Groundbreaking... The subtle touches of color and texture in his charts reminiscent of Gil Evans and Maria Schneider. Like them, Nikolov is inspired by the stirring sonorities of French horn, tuba, and accordion. But he blends Balkan metrical and tonal elements into his mix, and they introduce their own exotic aura…among the most creative current large jazz ensembles in Europe." - JazzTimes by Thomas Conrad

BLAZIN' QUARTET

Andreas Polyzogopoulos : trumpet | Federico Casagrande : guitar | Mihail Ivanov : bass | Srdjan Ivanovic : drums

Blending the sensibilities of East and West, the melodies and rhythms of Srdjan Ivanovic boldly and fiercely demonstrate his desire to perform exploratory, pioneering and innovative jazz. Surprising audiences and critics since their debut, they have won several prizes (Dutch Jazz Competition a.o.) and have since toured in Europe, Asia and America.

"The demonstration here is brilliant. "Sleeping Beauty" is a singular success. " - Jazz notes by Michel Arcens

“...led by serbian limber drummer, they twist and tweak conventions…” - Downbeat by Josef Woodard

XÉNOS

Jovana Krstevska : vocal | Robby Marshall : tenor sax, clarinet, kaval | Hugo Corbin : guitar | Philippe Burneau : bass | Srdjan Ivanovic : drums

Fronted by North Macedonian singer Jovana Krstevska, Xénos, "foreigner" in Greek, is a group inspired by stories and experiences of exile and immigration. Their first (self titled) album was released on June 23 2023 on Rue Des Balkans (Absilone-Socadisc).

Having fled the Bosnian war as a child, Srdjan landed in Greece and was immersed in an eclectic mix of music, from Byzantine chant to Greek folk to Italian pop. By adding the discovery of jazz, he developed his own musical voice, as a drummer and composer.
